Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Installer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and maintaining sheet metal components across various projects. Your expertise will ensure the precision and quality of HVAC systems, architectural features, and other metal structures. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction, extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, and proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install sheet metal components Fabricate metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to meet project specifications Install HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, roofing materials, and architectural metal features on construction sites Operate heavy equipment safely when required for material handling or site preparation Perform construction inspection to ensure installations meet safety standards and quality benchmarks Utilize construction management software such as Bluebeam for documentation and project coordination Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to coordinate installation activities Conduct maintenance and repair of existing sheet metal structures as needed Assist in remodeling, restoration projects, or custom fabrications requiring precise metalwork Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and project timelines Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on sheet metal installation or related trades Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating Knowledge of various construction disciplines including plumbing, electrical systems, masonry, roofing, and drywall installation Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., snips, hammers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and heavy equipment operation Familiarity with construction management software such as Bluebeam is preferred Ability to perform construction inspection and quality assurance tasks effectively Experience with fabrication techniques including welding, framing, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, and glass or fixture installation Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively This position is integral to the successful completion of high-quality construction projects.
