Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our Fabrication team at our Pembroke, MA location. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment. This position involves fabricating metal components—including sheet metal, structural steel, raw stock and machined components. We are looking for individuals who bring creativity, innovation, technical expertise, and a strong work ethic to help expand our capabilities.Key Responsibilities:
Select appropriate tooling for specific materials Collaborate with the Fabrication and Engineering teams to translate design specifications into functional components Set up and operate fabricating machines such as press brake with back gauge, rollers, shears, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and Bridgeport to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, combination squares, protractor, rulers, and measuring tapes. When required, move parts into position, manually or by using hoists or cranes. When required, lift or move materials and finished products, using cranes and fork trucks. Design and construct templates and fixtures, using hand tools. Read and interpret technical drawings Ability to layout bend lines, hole patterns and other geometry Demonstrate strong mechanical and technical aptitude Perform basic machine maintenance to keep fabrication equipment running A plus: Perform welding,MIG and TIG Required Competencies Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate precise dimensions and angles for complex shapesPrint Reading Skills:
Proficiency working from part drawings, drawing dimensions and bill of materials.Dexterity:
Strong hand-eye coordination for safe, precise metal cutting and fabricationMechanical Skills:
Experience operating and maintaining tools such as shears, presses, and lasersImagination:
Ability to approach projects creatively and propose innovative solutionsInquisitiveness:
Willingness to explore unique customer challenges and seek effective solutions Ability to:- Interpret and apply company policy and rules.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Operating Industrial Equipment.
- Pass a medical, physical examination and drug test
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:- Sitting, standing or crouching for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally work on elevated platforms.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 75 pounds.
- Occasionally work in a variety of industrial environments (hazards and filth extremes).
