Job Description
HDZ Mechanical LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Sheet Metal Mechanic / Ductwork Installer to join our growing team. We specialize in commercial HVAC construction projects throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, and has experience installing commercial ductwork systems. Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC ductwork systems according to project drawings and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and coordination drawings. Install rectangular, round, spiral, and specialty duct systems. Install duct supports, hangers, equipment curbs, and associated sheet metal accessories. Measure, layout, and field-fabricate duct components as required. Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, and other trades. Maintain a safe and organized work area. Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Perform quality control checks to ensure installations meet project requirements. QualificationsRequired Ability to read construction drawings and HVAC plans. Experience installing ductwork in commercial buildings. Reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Experience with tenant fit-out projects. Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts. Experience with HVAC equipment installation.
