Description:
Rugged Science is a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized, embedded computer systems. We specialize in custom prototype development as well as sustained production runs. Our products combine metal enclosures, computers, displays, and electronics. Rugged Science is looking for a strong candidate to be a key player in fabricating custom metal components for our products.

Responsibilities:
Set up of fiber laser cutter for processing flat sheets Load/unload of flat sheets and cut parts Monitor fiber laser cutter for processing errors Process cut metal through deburring equipment Set up press brake for new jobs Process material through press brake Monitor press brake for processing errors Insert PEM fasteners into metal work Utilize various measuring and inspection tools Perform 1st piece verification off machine prior to releasing production Review/read blueprints and specs Perform work within expected rates and costs Assist in processing prototypes and special orders Provide feedback to leadership regarding fabrication limitations and best practices Accurately track material usage and labor time in ERP system (Global Shop Solutions) Operate laser welder in accordance with safety standards to weld aluminum parts for military products Program robotic arm with laser welder attachment and supervise robot while running
Education/Skills:
• High school graduate required (Must be at least 18 years of age) Self-motivated Desire and drive to keep busy Mechanically inclined Metal working knowledge Technology oriented Desire to learn new processes Robotic programming experience (preferred) Must be able to lift 50lbs Overtime may be required throughout the year with pay at time and a half.
