Job Description

Depending on experience, Fabricators at our client perform various levels of work within the aircraft float fabrication process. As you gain experience and receive training, the work you will be performing will be more complex and you will have the opportunity to advance. Please note - there is no welding in this position. Performs simple fabrication and assemblies of aircraft floats under the guidance of more experienced fabricators. Forms material to match blueprint specifications or sample parts, following instructions. Operates equipment and utilizes common hand tools to manufacture and assemble parts. Inspects all parts for cleanliness and defects. Keeps Production Supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Records time in ERP software and signs off work order for each process of assembly. Follows procedures that support compliance to FAA regulations. If hired as or promoted to a Senior Fabricator, you will have the additional duties of: Selecting appropriate raw materials and prefabricated parts to perform moderately complex fabrication and assembly of aircraft parts and assemblies. Verifying conformance to industry and Company standards. Providing feedback to lesser experienced workers. Interpreting specifications, drawings, and/or sample parts to determine machine adjustments and material processing requirements. Identifying and performing processes needed for fabrication and assembly. Inspecting all parts and assemblies for cleanliness and conformity. If non-conformities exist, notifying Production Supervisor for corrective action. Maintaining traceability of material and parts issued to jobs, returning unused material through proper procedures. Following engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using adhesives, rivets, or threaded fasteners. Preparing and using jigs or fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts.
