Job Description
IMMEDIATELY HIRING SHEET METAL JOURNEYMAN / MECHANICS IN HICKORY, NC PAY
$30-35 /HOUR + OVERTIME + $120 PERDIEM PER DAY MONDAY - FRIDAY, 10 HOUR DAYS
Responsibilities Install various types of ductwork, including round and square duct, industrial construction project. Assemble, hang, and secure sheet metal duct systems according to project specifications and blueprints. Install, drop, and properly align supply and return air grills. Install flex duct and ensure proper connections to main duct lines and terminal units. Install VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes and associated duct connections as specified in plans. Read and interpret blueprints to determine duct layouts, dimensions, and installation requirements. Coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure proper routing and placement of ductwork. Inspect completed installations for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and building standards. Use appropriate tools and equipment to cut, shape, and fasten sheet metal components. Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with HVAC duct installation in a commercial / industrial construction setting. Proficiency in installing sheet metal ductwork, including square and round duct systems. Ability to install and align grills, flex duct, and VAV boxes accurately. Strong blueprint reading skills to interpret layouts and installation details. Knowledge of HVAC ductwork components and installation methods. Ability to work safely with hand and power tools used in sheet metal and duct installation. Understanding of basic construction and HVAC installation safety practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working as a sheet metal mechanic, HVAC installer, foreman, superintendent, or HVAC lead is an advantage. Previous experience in commercial HVAC duct installation projects. Familiarity with coordinating ductwork installation with other trades on-site. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project schedules. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hickory, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
