This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal components used across various industries. The successful candidate will utilize advanced machinery, precision measurement tools, and technical blueprints to produce high-quality metal parts that meet strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately fabricate sheet metal parts. Operate and set up a variety of fabrication equipment including press brakes, CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and welding tools. Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to ensure component accuracy. Program and operate CNC machinery such as laser cutters and milling machines to produce complex parts efficiently. Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of machinery to ensure optimal performance. Assemble fabricated components according to specifications while adhering to safety standards. Inspect finished products for quality compliance using precision measurement tools and visual inspection techniques. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to crane operation, tool handling, and machine operation. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints and modify designs as needed for manufacturability. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and troubleshooting production issues. Skills Proficiency in operating fabrication machinery including press brakes, CNC laser cutting equipment, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and welding tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Experience with CNC programming and setup for various machining processes. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise manufacturing. Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments. Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments including crane operation and tool handling safety protocols. Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements. Experience in sheet metal fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, forming, and assembly. Competence in using hand tools, tooling setups, and fabrication equipment efficiently. Understanding of quality inspection procedures related to machining accuracy and product conformity. Mechanical blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
