Job Title:
Metal Helper Job Description This role involves diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and installing sheet metal and duct insulation. The position requires a strong ability to estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs. The successful candidate will work closely with dispatch to ensure schedules are maintained, and any delays are communicated to customers promptly. Additionally, the role includes maintaining vehicle inventory, cleanliness, and maintenance, as well as performing manual tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, and lifting or maneuvering items up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, replace, and install sheet metal and duct insulation. Estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs accurately. Work with dispatch to ensure schedules are maintained and delays are communicated to customers. Maintain vehicle inventory, cleanliness, and maintenance. Perform manual tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Comprehensive knowledge of multiple piping material applications including Carbon Steel, Copper, PVC, Poly, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum Pipe, including piping layout. Receive direct supervision and perform technical responsibilities. Conduct testing, inspection, and recording. Install all systems and products per code, specifications, and contract requirements. Provide input to maintain current 'As-Built' record drawings. Essential Skills Experience with sheet metal. 1+ years of relevant experience. DBIDS in hand. Skills in construction, blueprint reading, plumbing, and PVC. Expertise in duct work and pipefitting. Knowledge of cast iron, mechanical systems, piping, and electrical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comprehensive knowledge of multiple piping material applications. Ability to perform manual tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, and lifting. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work is conducted from Monday to Friday with an expected 40-hour work week. Operating hours on-site are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with shifts consisting of an 8-hour period during these hours. Occasional on-call support will be required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
