Job Description
ROLE TerraSun Energy is changing the game when it comes to Commercial Solar O&M in California. Come join us as we revolutionize the customer experience for owners of existing solar systems who have been neglected by their original installers. If you are obsessive about doing work the right way with a humble yet dedicated work ethic, this is the perfect place for you to grow your career. We are looking for Experienced Solar Technicians & Troubleshooters to join our team in Bakersfield serving the adjacent counties. The role involves providing proactive maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of solar systems in the Central Valley. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of existing solar systems to assess condition and identify any opportunities for improvement or current issues.
- Undertake comprehensive technical diagnosis of the system performance using specialized equipment (Multimeters, Meggers, Thermal Drone Cameras, IV Curve Tracers).
- Develop a solution to address any areas of underperformance
- Troubleshoot and repair any underperforming aspect of the solar system (panels, inverters, racking, BOS etc..)
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance to improve system performance and longevity
- Thoroughly document all findings, diagnosis, solutions and work performed
- Communicate effectively with clients providing clear explanation of work performed, issues found and proposed solutions. Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- A determined work ethic with a dedicated customer service mindset
- Neat, well groomed presentation. (Full uniform and clothing will be supplied)
- 2+ years of hands on experience in the solar industry (either as installer, electrician or maintenance technician)
- Proficiency with hand tools and familiarity with electrical diagnostic tools
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work extended periods of time outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 (requirement to obtain this within first 12 months)
- Experience with SMA / Solectria / Solar Edge and other mainstream inverter technologies
Electrical Apprentice or Electrical License Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to work in various positions, including kneeling, bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat.
- Comfortable working at heights and on sloped roofs.
