Field Operations Job Title:
Field Rework Operator Location:
Nationwide (50% Travel Required)
Overview:
Jinko Solar is seeking skilled Field Rework Operators to join our field repair team. This role involves nationwide travel to perform repairs and maintenance on utility ground mount solar systems. Operators will follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to conduct technical repairs, such as string connector cold soldering, while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform backsheet and string connector repairs following SOP guidelines. Conduct reliability tests and verify repairs to meet Jinko Solar's standards. Prepare and set up tools and equipment at repair sites, ensuring all resources are ready for efficient operations. Use tools such as hook and pick tools, flat screwdrivers, putty knives, soldering irons, and cutters to complete tasks safely and effectively. Operate equipment such as Honda 2200W generators, voltage transformers, and solder stations during repair work. Work primarily at ground level with occasional use of short ladders for access to modules at heights of 10'-12'. Repair modules only on de-energized systems, maintaining exposure to low voltage (~40-50VDC). Handle materials like solder tin wire, silicone glue for PV modules, and repair tapes during tasks. Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE such as helmets, cut-proof gloves, safety shoes, and snake gaiters. Maintain compliance with company safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment. Adapt to various site conditions and designs, understanding the de-energizing and re-energizing processes for solar systems. Document repair activities and provide comprehensive reports on work completed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in electrical or solar systems is preferred. Prior experience in solar system repairs, electrical systems, or similar technical fields is advantageous. Familiarity with tools and materials used in field repairs, as outlined in company SOPs. Basic understanding of electrical safety protocols and troubleshooting. Strong physical capability to work at ground level and occasionally use ladders. Valid driver's license and ability to operate company-provided or rental vehicles. Willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight as required. Strong English proficiency is preferred to ensure effective communication of safety protocols and job instructions.
Working Conditions:
Majority of the work (95%+) occurs on utility ground mount systems at ground level. Minimal rooftop work (<3%); limited tasks requiring heights above 25 feet. Exposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Hands-on tasks requiring frequent use of tools and mobility around field sites.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate:
