In this role, you will be responsible for installing solar energy systems on residential properties, ensuring each project meets safety standards and quality expectations. Your expertise will help drive the transition to renewable energy, making a positive impact on communities and the environment. Duties Install solar panels, mounting hardware, and electrical components following blueprints, schematics, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute installation plans. Connect high voltage and low voltage electrical systems safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols. Use hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and other construction site tools to complete installations. Perform fixture installation, wiring, grounding, and testing of solar energy systems on various structures including rooftops and ground mounts. Conduct site assessments to ensure proper system placement and compliance with safety regulations; coordinate with other construction trades such as roofing and plumbing as needed. Operate machinery safely when required for material handling or site access. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and system configurations. Skills Electrical experience with knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to solar installations. Familiarity with NEC standards governing electrical safety and wiring practices. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, plumbing tools, and other construction-related devices effectively. Knowledge of fixture installation techniques specific to solar energy systems. Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery safely on construction sites is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues during installation.
