POSITION SUMMARY ETW
Energy is seeking an experienced and innovative Field Service Technician with a specialized focus in renewable energy systems. Successful track record of delivering consistent and predictable results by driving continual improvement in safety, efficiency, and quality of solar and other renewable installations. The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of solar energy systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related equipment. You will have to conduct thorough inspections of renewable installations, assessing their functionality, efficiency, and making all necessary repairs. Additionally, you will provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and offering technical support to customers. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated troubleshooting skills, and will be able to work with little-to-no supervision. A successful candidate will also be able to keep our electrical systems up-to-date and meet current safety codes. They will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful assessment and repair of solar energy systems..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine maintenance checks on solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to solar panels, inverters, batteries, wiring, and monitoring systems. Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components or equipment, following safety protocols and industry standards. Install, configure, and commission solar energy systems according to project specifications and in compliance with electrical and AHJ codes. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to implement system upgrades, modifications, or expansions. Keep accurate records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and customer interactions. Educate customers on proper system operation, maintenance procedures, and energy-saving practices. Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working on-site and during transportation of equipment. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices through training programs and self-directed learning.
REQUIREMENTS
(EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND
OTHER SKILLS
) Minimum 2 years experience w/ 1 year experience in solar preferred. Must maintain a clean driving record and clean MVR to operate a vehicle and possess a valid drivers license. CPR and First Aid Certifications up to date and maintained in conjunction with employment with ETW Energy. Certifications in Tesla, Enphase, and SolarEdge
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to transport materials safely up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat and cold, wet environment, humidity, and sunny and low light conditions. Ability to safely work on rooftops with changing pitches and angels requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance. Ability to work with the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment. Hand functions require fine motor skills, including but not limited to manual dexterity, manipulation, grasping, and pinching. Ability to walk on uneven surfaces such as rafters, roof shingles, and tiles and prevent damage. Ability to work in spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and basements as required that require kneeling and crouching. Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, and green. Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings. Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment.
