$19.23-$25.63 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Position Summary SolQ is seeking a skilled and dependable Residential Solar Installer to join our growing installation team in Peoria, IL. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants to build a career in the renewable energy industry. As a Solar Installer, you will help install residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related equipment while working closely with the installation crew to complete projects safely, accurately, and efficiently. Responsibilities Install residential solar PV panels and related equipment on rooftops and other approved structures. Prepare job sites, take measurements, and assist with system layout and component placement. Assemble and install racking systems, mounting hardware, solar modules, and support structures. Follow project plans, blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings. Assist with electrical components and connections within the scope of the position. Inspect completed installations to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with applicable building and electrical codes. Identify installation issues and troubleshoot problems using practical problem-solving skills. Perform routine maintenance and address installation-related issues as needed. Work with the installation crew to complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule. Communicate professionally with homeowners and provide a positive customer experience throughout the installation process. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites. Follow company safety procedures and safe work practices when working at heights and in outdoor conditions. QualificationsRequired Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, tools, and components. Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively as part of an installation crew. Ability to safely work on rooftops and at elevated heights. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with solar installation, including climbing, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of hands-on solar PV installation experience. 1-2 years of residential solar installation experience. Technical, trade, or vocational training in solar installation, electrical work, construction, or a related field. NABCEP certification or progress toward an industry-recognized solar credential. Experience with residential rooftop solar PV systems, racking, and mounting systems. Compensation & Benefits $19.23-$25.63 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. Paid time off (PTO). Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is performed primarily at residential job sites and involves outdoor work, rooftop access, and working at elevated heights.
