North Carolina Master Electrician License Position Summary 1st Light Sales Corp is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to support the installation, electrical work, commissioning, and service of commercial solar energy systems throughout North Carolina. The ideal candidate is a licensed Master Electrician with strong commercial electrical experience, excellent knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the ability to lead electrical installation work safely and efficiently. Solar experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate on solar-specific systems, equipment, and installation practices. Required Qualifications Active North Carolina Master Electrician License required. Minimum of 5 years of commercial electrical experience preferred. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Experience with commercial electrical systems, including panels, disconnects, conduit, wiring, and electrical distribution. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and one-line diagrams. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and identify problems efficiently. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work safely on commercial construction sites. Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry electrical materials and equipment as required. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Essential Responsibilities Perform commercial electrical installations, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting. Lead and perform electrical portions of commercial solar PV installations. Install, terminate, and connect electrical equipment, wiring, conduit, disconnects, panels, and related components. Read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings. Ensure electrical installations comply with the NEC, applicable North Carolina requirements, and project specifications. Inspect electrical installations and identify code, safety, or workmanship issues. Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and system startup. Coordinate electrical work with solar installers, project managers, general contractors, and other trades. Assist with permitting and inspections as needed. Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate project status and issues to management. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition. Travel to commercial project locations as required. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices. Perform other related duties as assigned. Solar industry experience is not required. The successful candidate will receive training on solar PV systems, including: Solar array electrical systems Inverters and associated equipment DC and AC electrical systems Rapid shutdown systems Battery/storage systems, where applicable Solar-specific NEC requirements Commercial solar commissioning and troubleshooting Candidates with prior solar experience are welcome but will not receive preference over a highly qualified commercial electrician solely because of solar experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading commercial electrical crews. Experience with commercial construction projects. Experience with electrical permitting and inspections. Familiarity with solar PV systems. Experience with battery energy storage systems. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience working with general contractors and commercial construction teams. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Work on ladders, lifts, roofs, and elevated work areas. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas. Lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment. Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions. Safely use common electrical tools and equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
