Full-Time W-2, Part-Time W-2, or 1099 Contractor Pamlico Electric & Solar is hiring an experienced Solar Installer / Solar Electrician for residential solar, battery storage, and electrical projects in Wilmington and surrounding areas. This is not an entry-level position. Demonstrated solar installation experience is required. We are a small crew working directly with the owner. We're looking for someone who knows solar, works hard, shows up reliably, and can perform quality work without constant supervision. Responsibilities Residential rooftop solar installation Roof layout, racking, and solar module installation Electrical panels and breakers Conduit installation and bending Wire pulling, termination, and electrical connections Inverter installation Battery storage installation System commissioning Solar and electrical troubleshooting Diagnosing system and installation issues Maintaining clean, professional workmanship Working independently and as part of a small crew We regularly work with Tesla, Enphase, FranklinWH, SMA, SolarEdge, and IronRidge equipment. Requirements Demonstrated professional solar installation experience Comfortable working independently Strong understanding of rooftop solar installation Experience installing solar racking and modules Electrical experience with panels, breakers, conduit, wiring, inverters, and related equipment Comfortable working on pitched residential roofs and ladders Ability to repeatedly lift approximately 50-60 lbs Valid driver's license Reliable transportation to job sites Own basic hand tools Dependable and punctual Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Electrical license is not required but is a major plus. Experience with Tesla, Enphase, FranklinWH, SMA, SolarEdge, or IronRidge equipment is also a plus. Compensation $25-$32+ per hour based on experience and demonstrated ability. Exceptionally qualified candidates may earn more than $32/hour. Performance bonuses are available for excellent productivity and workmanship, including: Completing projects ahead of schedule High-quality installations Efficient project completion Minimizing callbacks and installation issues W-2 employees are eligible for paid time off after six months. Qualifying overnight travel includes $100/day per diem. Schedule Typical schedule is five days per week for full-time employees. Part-time schedules may be considered for experienced candidates. Weekend work may occasionally be available but is generally optional. Most projects are located within approximately 50 miles of Wilmington, NC. Overnight travel is rare. Employees typically meet directly at the job site. Who We're Looking For Solar experience and work ethic are the two biggest factors we're looking for. This position is a good fit for someone who already knows how to install solar, takes pride in their work, doesn't need to be constantly supervised, and wants their productivity and quality to be rewarded. We're willing to structure the position as full-time W-2, part-time W-2, or 1099 depending on the right candidate.
