Solar TechnicianLocation:
Rochester, NYCompensation:
$30
  • 50/hour (DOE)
Overview:
A growing renewable energy organization is seeking a Solar Technicians to support field operations across community and utility-scale solar projects. This role is ideal for electrically skilled professionals who enjoy hands-on work, regional travel, and contributing to clean energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on solar electrical systemsWork with three-phase electrical systems in a solar environmentAssist with system commissioning, testing, and repairsInterpret electrical drawings and support field-level redlining as neededEnsure all work complies with safety standards, codes, and project specificationsTravel to project sites within a few hours of the office for day trips (limited overnight travel)Operate independently in the field and coordinate with internal and external teams
Qualifications:
Background in electrical work, with hands-on experience in three-phase systemsPrior experience in the solar industry preferred (community or utility-scale strongly preferred)Journeyman Electrician license is a strong plusAbility to read and interpret electrical diagrams and construction drawingsComfortable with regional travel and working in outdoor environmentsStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detailBenefits
