Job Description

Solar Technician Company:
Dream Home Roofing Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Solar Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across the Northeast Tri-state area. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, is comfortable working on roofs or elevated structures, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities System Installation:
Assemble, install, and secure solar panels, racking systems, and mounting hardware on residential or commercial roofs and ground-mount structures.
Electrical Connectivity:
Route wiring and connect solar panels to inverters, battery storage systems, and the main electrical grid following schematic designs.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests on existing solar systems to identify and resolve performance issues, replacing faulty components as needed.
Site Preparation:
Assess the job site, take accurate measurements, and layout the panel configuration based on customer needs and structural constraints.
Safety Compliance:
Strictly adhere to all local building codes, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines (including lockout/tagout procedures).
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of materials used, system performance data, completed work, and maintenance logs for each project.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate professionally with property owners to explain the installation process, answer questions, and demonstrate how to monitor system performance. Qualifications & Requirements Experience (Required): Minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in solar panel installation, roofing, or field electrical work.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to effectively communicate with diverse teams and clients.
Travel Requirement:
Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the Northeast (Tri-state area) to various job sites.
Mobility:
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record are required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment (such as multimeters).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to safely lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work continuously at heights or in confined spaces.
Weather Tolerance:
Comfort and willingness to work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
Pay:
