Envinity's Renovation and Energy Services group is seeking a Solar Installer to contribute to the group's growth and service offerings.
JOB SUMMARY
The Solar Installer I is an entry to mid-level, primarily field-based position with a focus on job site execution and adhering to existing processes. The position requires basic Solar Photovoltaic knowledge (or electrical knowledge), experience performing contracting work in the residential and commercial sectors, strong communication, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to travel overnight. The Installer will be responsible for executing tasks assigned by the project manager and/or site manager, maintaining a clean work environment, and interacting in a friendly manner with clients. This position can evolve into a Site Manager or another relevant position within Envinity. Above all, Envinity prioritizes finding good human beings who want to make a positive change. Envinity will train on the job.
JOB TASKS
Install photovoltaic systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions
Assemble solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified
Apply weather sealing to array, building, or support mechanisms
Accurately layout and install solar racking systems per design on ground and roof mounted systems
Mount and wire PV modules per specified design
Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photovoltaic system installation or materials
Assist with programming, adjusting, or configuring inverters and controls for desired set points and operating modes
Determine materials, equipment, and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation efficiency
Assist in preparation for projects by loading vehicles, gathering inventory, maintaining tools, etc.
Assist in routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment
Adhere to daily and weekly schedules for project activities under the direction of the Project Manager
Must be committed to safe working practices, knowledge of OSHA safety standards, and understand the importance of maintaining a clean job site and clean vehicles
Must be comfortable working at heights, working off ladders, working off scaffolding, and working off lifts
Operation of heavy equipment such as mini-excavators and articulating lifts
Lift up to 75Lbs
Maintain Envinity standards of quality control, client communication and client satisfaction
Extend a high-level service to our clients representing Envinity in a courteous, punctual, and professional manner
Be part of a friendly, communicative part of an installation team of 3 to 4 people working on all parts of a solar power installation
WHAT MAKES A GOOD CANDIDATE
Experience in the solar or electrical contracting industry
Awareness of building and electrical codes
Willingness to travel
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
Comfortable working at heights and on ladders
Experience running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment
PAY AND BENEFITS
Typical starting wage range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on experience. Higher wages possible for individuals with extensive experience (5+ years) in the solar or electrical fields.
