Job Description
Since 2017, Tile By Design has been growing and thriving in Charlotte County. We are currently searching for a full time employee to assist with day-to-day jobs and learn the trade. A typical workday would be 9am-5pm Mon-Fri but can vary by job. Work sites range from Sarasota to Punta Gorda with the occasional outlier. Tasks range from demo, floor/wall covering to miscellaneous construction duties. Tools will be provided. Willing to train the right individual if you are hard working, reliable, presentable, have your own transportation, have basic construction knowledge and can lift 65 lbs. Pay based on experience. $17/hr minimum with potential for continual growth.
Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and calculate the number of tiles needed
- Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- Cut, shape, and install tiles using tools such as tile cutters and saws
- Level and align tiles using straightedges, levels, and plumb lines
- Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and bathtubs
- Repair or replace damaged tiles as needed
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with power tools
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail
- Knowledge of drywall installation and concrete finishing is a plus
- Experience in trim carpentry and construction painting is a plus
