Shop Lead - Granite/Quartz Fabricator and Installer

The Rock Shop is a locally owned and growing countertop fabrication shop specializing in granite, quartz, and quartzite. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated, skilled individual to step into a leadership role within our shop and help guide our team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Shop Lead who is willing to learn all aspects of our operation and lead by example. This role involves overseeing daily shop workflow, supporting team members, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to our quality standards. Cross-training across multiple areas is expected to build a well-rounded understanding of the entire fabrication and installation process.

Responsibilities:

Lead and support shop team in daily production and workflow Fabricate and install granite, quartz, and quartzite countertops Operate saw jet and CNC machinery Receive and inspect incoming materials Read and interpret shop drawings, templates, and measurements Ensure accuracy, quality, and proper handling of materials Train and assist team members across multiple areas Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Coordinate with team to meet production schedules and deadlines

Qualifications:

Previous experience in countertop fabrication and/or installation preferred (will train the right candidate) Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team Willingness to cross-train and learn all aspects of the business Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Comfortable working in both shop and field environments Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety practices related to stone fabrication is a plus Strong communication skills required Jobsite project management is a plus
