UP Health System Marquette Lead Special Procedure Radiographer .8 FTE- 32/ hours week Varied Schedule This is a MAST Union position This position has a $7,500 sign on bonus for eligible external candidates. How you'll contribute A Special Procedure Radiographer who excels in this role: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Monitors patients' vital signs. Reports any changes in status as appropriate. Assists interventionalist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions, as necessary. Participates in evaluation and acquisition of new products and supplies. Is considered a superuser of advanced devices and imaging techniques. Responsible for training of new and existing staff in the department on new equipment and techniques. maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment. Administers medications to patients under the supervision of attending physician. Plans, implements, documents, and evaluates all aspects of radiation safety and monitoring of radiographic procedural modifications. Develops and implements yearly education plan for the department staff. Leads implantation of new procedures and techniques.
