Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Residential Tile Setter to join our remodeling team. You will be responsible for transforming bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces with high-quality tile installations. This role focuses on custom craftsmanship and precise layouts utilizing your skills in tile laying, flooring installation, and related construction tasks.
Responsibilities Prep & Waterproofing:
Demolish old surfaces, level floors, straighten walls, and install advanced waterproofing systems (e.g., Schluter).
Layout & Installation:
Measure, map out, and install custom layouts (e.g., herringbone, subway, large format) on floors, walls, and walk-in showers.
Cutting & Fabricating:
Precision-cut tile, stone, and glass around outlets, plumbing fixtures, and tight angles using wet saws and grinders.
Finishing Work:
Apply grout, install color-matched caulking, clean and polish tiles, and seal natural stone surfaces.
Site Care:
Protect client homes using drop cloths and dust barriers, and maintain a clean, organized work area daily.
Experience Experience:
2 to 5+ years of hands-on residential tiling experience preferred.
Technical Skill:
Proficient with tile laying, mud work, self-leveling compounds, and backer board installation.
Professionalism:
Punctual, reliable, and capable of communicating politely with homeowners, and efficiently with coworkers.
Logistics:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites. Background in remodeling projects including cabinet installation, flooring installation, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, painting, and general handyman tasks is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Stamina to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
