Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ASC Insurance Biller to join our growing team in Greenbae, CA. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely billing and maximizing reimbursement for surgical procedures within our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). You will work closely with clinical, coding, and administrative teams to support the full revenue cycle—from claim submission through payment resolution. Must-Have Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of medical billing experience (ASC, surgery center, or outpatient setting preferred) Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems Experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and LOA agreements Familiarity with EMR and billing systems (HST experience a plus) Solid understanding of EOBs, denial management, and claims follow-up Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Strong communication and customer service abilities Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate electronic and paper claims for outpatient surgical services Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements Review operative reports and coding for billing accuracy Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims to ensure timely resolution Submit appeals with appropriate documentation as needed Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately Reconcile accounts receivable and monitor aging reports Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and financial responsibility Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer-specific regulations Collaborate with coders, front office, and clinical teams to resolve billing issues Identify trends and recommend improvements to billing processes Maintain accurate patient financial records within the billing system Preferred Qualifications Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification Experience supporting surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, General Surgery, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, GYN, Cardiac, Vascular, or ENT Knowledge of prior authorizations and payer contracts Core Skills Insurance claims processing & denial resolution Accounts receivable follow-up Revenue cycle management Medical terminology Data accuracy and time management Problem-solving and analytical thinking
