Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year in a special education environment. This onsite role is designed for professionals passionate about facilitating communication and inclusion for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Two full-time opportunities are available, running from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with the possibility of extension through May 27, 2027. Assignment details and specific classroom placements will be discussed further during the interview process.

Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Previous experience working in educational settings preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliability and professionalism in maintaining student confidentiality Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing during classroom instruction and school-related activities Ensure clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and staff Adapt interpreting methods to suit varying student needs and content areas Support classroom engagement and help foster an inclusive learning environment Maintain ethical standards regarding privacy and professional boundaries This is a contract-based, full-time, onsite position with a 35-hour work week schedule. You will not be asked to conduct virtual or remote interpretation; your expertise will be applied directly in the school community.
