In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating asphalt paving equipment to create smooth, durable road surfaces and parking lots. Your expertise will ensure high-quality paving work that meets project specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy machinery with precision and safety awareness to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently. Coordinate with the construction crew to prepare the site, including grading, leveling, and ensuring proper material placement. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on paving equipment to maximize uptime. Assist with the setup of concrete mixers, concrete pumping systems, and other related equipment as needed for paving projects involving concrete surfaces. Support the installation of rebar and formwork for concrete paving sections, ensuring structural integrity. Operate loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and other construction vehicles to transport materials and prepare the site for paving activities. Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment Familiarity with concrete finishing, concrete forming, and concrete pumping processes is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery. Prior construction site experience, especially in paving or roadwork projects. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred for operating commercial vehicles. Knowledge of rebar installation and general construction practices is advantageous. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
