Job Description
Join a dynamic healthcare finance team in the Central Plains region of the United States as an Assistant Controller. This role supports the leadership in directing financial planning and accounting operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with established principles. Essential Responsibilities Develop and implement financial policies and strategic plans. Oversee the accounting system to guarantee timely and precise financial data collection. Analyze and interpret financial and statistical information for internal stakeholders. Supervise general ledger maintenance including journal entries, invoice coding, account reconciliations, and month-end closings. Coordinate the annual budgeting process and assist department heads with budget reviews and planning. Manage software tools for generating detailed financial reports and provide cost data interpretation to decision makers. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and third-party payer requirements. Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements and respond to third-party survey requests. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI). Foster effective communication and professional relationships with team members, contractors, physicians, and external agencies. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Several years of experience in reimbursement, financial analysis, auditing, or related fields. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficient computer skills with the ability to use various financial software. Excellent communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities. Physical Requirements This is primarily sedentary work with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds and frequent exertion of up to 5 pounds. Standing or walking comprises less than 10% of the workday.
