Assistant Director - Communications

Overview:

The Assistant Director, under the leadership of the Senior Director, Advancement Services, supports Nationwide Children's Hospital and affiliated organizations by overseeing Foundation internal and external communications across digital channels and a quarterly print newsletter, ensuring alignment with brand, strategy, and engagement goals.

Job Description Summary:

May coordinate events, fundraising campaigns, volunteer groups and programs, manage relationships, and oversee fundraising databases and reporting. Will require occasional evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions:

Coordinates fundraising events and campaigns. Develops and maintains relationships with donors and sponsors. Prepares reports on foundation activities and outcomes. Collaborates with team members to achieve fundraising goals. Ensures compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience, required.

Skills:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable with people of all ages and backgrounds. Must be equally comfortable with public speaking and one-on-one communication. Demonstrated personal initiative, devotion to hospital mission and on-going personal education and development. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to be a team player and display diplomacy/political savvy. Ability to be entrusted with personal and confidential information and make ethical decisions.

Experience:

One year of fund-raising, sales or relevant experience, preferred.
