Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the nursing department in a nursing home or long-term care facility. The ADON helps ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities Assist in ensuring quality nursing care to all residents/patients. Supports and practices the philosophy, nursing objectives and standards of the Department of Nursing. Ensures that the nursing department is adequately staffed to provide quality care to patients/residents. Ensures the provision of in-service/staff development programs that contribute to meeting nursing objectives and standards and comply with all state and federal regulations. Provides clinical expertise to facilitate and support the nursing process in patient/ resident interventions. Assists in ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients/residents, employees and visitors. Acts as Director of Nursing in the absence of same as described in the Director of Nursing position description if designated by DON. Exercises administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel as directed by the Director of Nursing. Provides clinical expertise to facilitate and support the nursing process in patient/resident interventions. Assists in ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients, residents, employees and visitors. Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Experience Typically 2-5 years of nursing experience , preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Skills Leadership and staff management Clinical assessment and care planning Knowledge of long-term care regulations Strong communication and organizational skills

Pay:

$95,000.00 per year
