PRESCHOOL ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/LEAD TEACHER 2026

School Year Opening:

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, prior early childhood teaching experience and a passion for working with 2•5 year old children. Candidates must have EEC Director I certification. We are looking for a lead teacher who values collaboration with the team and brings high energy to all aspects of working with young children. Our teachers work together to develop lesson plans and curriculum, engage with children and families in a positive way and participate fully in all aspects of the academic, social and physical life of the school. Assistant Director duties include coordinating Fun Bunch and assisting with student recordkeeping. Our preschool is licensed and regulated by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Our non-discrimination policy can be found on our website: www.noanetnurseryschool.org. Duties Lead and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, literacy education, math, physical education to support diverse learning styles. Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, positive behavior management, and effective classroom management strategies that promote engagement and independence. Collaborate with families, staff, and specialists in early intervention and special education to support each child's unique needs and promote child welfare. Oversee daily childcare routines for toddlers and preschoolers, including diapering, feeding, nap times, and outdoor activities aligned with childhood development principles. Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress through standardized testing and informal observations to tailor instruction and support early intervention efforts. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides, fostering teamwork and professional growth within the preschool community. Maintain compliance with licensing standards, health regulations, and best practices in daycare and private school settings. Experience Proven classroom experience working with children in preschool or daycare environments, ideally with toddlers or early learners. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across early childhood education domains such as literacy, math, physical education, and behavior management. Experience working with children requiring special education services or early intervention programs is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and external professionals. Familiarity with classroom management techniques, lesson planning tools, and standardized testing procedures relevant to preschool settings. Knowledge of childhood development milestones and best practices in childcare to ensure a nurturing learning environment.
