Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Dockmaster and become a vital part of our maritime operations! In this energetic role, you will support the efficient management of dock activities, assist with vessel movements, and ensure safety and smooth operations along the waterfront. Your proactive approach will help maintain a well-organized, safe, and productive dock environment, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our clients and partners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in marine operations while contributing to a thriving maritime community. Duties Assist the Dockmaster in coordinating vessel arrivals, departures, and docking procedures to ensure timely operations Support rigging activities by preparing mooring lines, securing vessels, and assisting with equipment setup. Conduct routine inspections of dock facilities, mooring lines, and safety equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate Collaborate with crew members and external contractors to facilitate smooth vessel handling and maintenance tasks. Support emergency response efforts by understanding safety protocols and assisting in incident management when needed Skills Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and vessel crews Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and prioritize workplace safety at all times Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail to identify potential hazards or operational inefficiencies This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in maritime operations while contributing to a safe and efficient dock environment.
