Weed Control (mechanical and leading the hand weeding crew) Bed Preparation (including primary tillage and stale seed bedding) Management of transplanting crew Fertility management Irrigation management Pest and disease scouting and control using organic methods Determining when crops are ripe, Estimating yields and communicating information to the Harvest Team and Sales Team Detailed record keeping of field work The Assistant Field Grower should be a competent tractor driver. He/ She should be able to communicate effectively. He/ She should be able to work well independently as well as lead a group. Ideally this person would have two years experience in vegetable growing.
