Job Description

BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida. We are currently seeking an Assistant House Manager who, under the supervision of the Group Home Manager, is responsible to assist with the management of the
BASCA L.I.F.E
homes, following a person-centered approach. This is a 2nd shift position (2-10 pm), and must be available for shifts every other weekend.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the management, supervision, and scheduling of staff at assigned home to ensure that caring and responsible supervision and program implementation is provided to all residents of the home. Provide support and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the home. Provide transportation as needed for the residents to the day program and other community outings. Conduct monthly house meetings with individuals to develop community calendars, house rules and responsibilities, and to gauge individual satisfaction. Accompany and assist individuals with necessary medical appointments, and complete post-appointment paperwork Implement individuals' support plans as written. Ensure completion and maintenance of all necessary documentation as required by law. Provide and seek out opportunities for individuals in the home to make choices. Administer medication in accordance with medical provider directions and BASCA policies. Attend staff meetings, as well as client support plan and implementation plan meetings. Organize outings for individuals, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to engage in activities of their choice
  • and assure that residents' requests for religious observation are met.
Monitor individuals' finances, and assist individuals with personal purchases, while keeping accurate records and receipts. Establish productive relationships with community-based resources, individuals' families and guardians. Receive training in accordance with the Medicaid Waiver Handbook requirements within required timeframes. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, or childcare setting, or 1 year of experience working with persons with a developmental disability. OR Successfully completed college, vocational, or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours in special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, or health and rehabilitative services. Meets state requirements for Background Screening. Valid Driver's License with clean driving record At least 23 years of age (to drive company vehicles)
