Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Assistant Service Manager to join our automotive dealership team. Duties Assist the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and customer interactions. Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and quality vehicle repairs, including diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, and diesel engine repairs. Support upselling of additional services and maintenance packages to enhance customer satisfaction and departmental revenue. Handle customer inquiries, provide estimates, and communicate repair progress effectively. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Manage administrative tasks such as service writing, auto estimating, cash handling, and documentation. Assist in training and mentoring technicians and service advisors to improve overall department performance. Support vehicle delivery processes and ensure customer satisfaction upon completion of services. Skills Proven dealership experience with comprehensive knowledge of automotive service management. Strong mechanical knowledge including automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, air brake systems, alignment, shocks & struts, tire service, suspension systems, brake repair, diesel engine repair, and other automotive repairs. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Experience in auto estimating, service writing, auto sales, and upselling techniques. Familiarity with mechanic work and technical troubleshooting across various vehicle systems. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage administrative tasks efficiently. Knowledge of automotive repair standards related to transmissions, oil changes, auto body repairs, air brakes, alignments, suspensions, tires, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brakes—all contributing to comprehensive vehicle maintenance expertise.
