Consultant Advisor, ERP Kyle Johnson is recruiting this position. Our Healthcare client is seeking an experienced Assistant Payroll Manager to support enterprise payroll functions during a key backfill assignment tied to a Workday implementation. This role provides operational leadership for multi-entity payroll processing while driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and workflow efficiencies across the organization. This role is 100% onsite in Valhalla NY & has an initial duration of 1 year + extensions. Key Responsibilities Oversee weekly and biweekly payroll processing across multiple departments and entities Ensure accurate processing of earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, PTO accruals, and retroactive adjustments Review payroll audits, reconciliations, and exception reporting prior to transmission Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll policies, compliance, and regulatory requirements Support payroll team operations, workload prioritization, and escalation management Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and HRIS teams on payroll system enhancements, integrations, testing, and Workday implementation activities Lead payroll process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy Develop standardized workflows, controls, dashboards, and reporting tools Support payroll audits, tax filings, year-end processing, and W-2 reconciliations Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll data Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities Strong knowledge of payroll operations, compliance, payroll systems, and process improvement initiatives Experience supporting large, multi-entity organizations preferred Prior Workday payroll implementation experience highly desirable
