TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
12-month position
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for implementing the Middle School discipline code. Supervises and coordinates extracurricular aspects of the Middle School operation as assigned by the principal.
EVALUATION
Performance in this area will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board Policy, administrative directives and be consistent with the terms and conditions of employment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer the general discipline control of the school and to specifically hand referrals. Carry out the program of pupil accounting. Provide for orderly traffic at buses, cafeteria, corridors, etc., through assignment of teachers to supervise these areas and provision of assistance to these teachers. Oversee the cafeteria staff. Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in carrying out the supervision program of the school. Assume the major responsibility for the preparation of the schedule. Administer and supervise the total extracurricular program. Act as liaison for community and school in such programs as exchange students, essay contests, awards, sales, charity donations, etc. Provide for proper behavior and dress at all social affairs, trips, etc. Work with the Principal in a program of research and evaluation in the areas of the Assistant Principal's major responsibility Submit a report to the principal monthly which summarizes the accomplishments of the previous month and indicates future plans. The report will include a statistical report of discipline cases; for both regular and special education students Submit a statistical report annually on the discipline cases handled for the year. Be present at after-school and evening activities as directed by the Principal. Perform all other duties and activities as directed by the Principal. Oversee the operation of school bus transportation including State transportation report and bus safety drills. Assume responsibilities associated with the assignment of student lockers. Prepare and submit State Substance, Violence and Substance Abuse forms when required. Attend Child Study Team meetings and Pupil Assistance Committee meetings as needed. Assist in the preparation and implementation of Behavior Management Plans. Maintain the scheduling of outside use of the building. Plan and implement strategies to improve student behavior. Prepare and submit a budget proposal for the activities and needs of the Discipline Program. Oversee the operations and staff of the Discipline and Attendance Office including recess, study hall, time out, Saturday session, and in-school suspension. Monitor compliance with the Code of Conduct, especially in regard to the accumulation of the total number of Saturday sessions and suspensions for each student. Monitor compliance with Special Education regulations especially in regard to the total number of suspensions for each special education student. Provide early warning notification to the Child Study Team office when a special education student reaches 7 days of suspensio Prepare enrollment and demographic statistical information for the Fall ASSA, and other mandated reports. Revise student handbook and assignment book. Shall perform all other duties as directed by Middle School Principal.
