Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or Environmental Science highly preferred 0-2+ years of general construction, civil construction, or construction materials testing or inspection experience Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Plusses:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. ACI certification(s) and/or experience with testing and inspection. Familiarity with building enclosures, steel structures, and reading construction plans. KDOT experience
Day-to-Day:
Insight Global is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our client's Manhattan, KS office. Join a nationally recognized firm headquartered in the Kansas City area, leading civil construction, construction materials testing and special inspection services across the Topeka and Manhattan region. This role is ideal for a safety-minded, client-focused professional ready to own the full lifecycle of civil construction projects-from proposal to closeout. 80% in office, 20% in the field. Business is mainly university and energy-based clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage construction materials testing and special inspection services.
Own project lifecycle:
proposals, estimating, safety, execution, and closeout. Interpret and review construction drawings for compliance with plans/specs. Coordinate and supervise field investigations, inspections, and reporting. Prepare and review proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports. Track project progress, budgets, and recommend adjustments as needed. Communicate effectively with clients and project teams (technical and non-technical). Identify future project opportunities and maintain client relationships. Supervise and mentor field and junior staff.
