This role is ideal for a journeyman electrician or senior field professional who understands commercial electrical construction and is ready to transition into project management. This is a hands-on support role, not a purely administrative position. You will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to coordinate materials, documentation, schedules, and communication Who This Role Is For This role is ideal for someone who: Understands how jobs actually run in the field Wants to expand their skill set beyond tools Enjoys problem-solving and organization Is looking for a long-term career path, not just a job As an Assistant Project Manager , you will support multiple projects and assist with: Prepare submittals (materials, equipment, lighting, gear, etc.) Work with the field foremen to Draft RFIs, including plan markups and photos Maintain current as built drawings, revisions, and document logs Material & Procurement Support Track material orders and deliveries Monitor long-lead items and flag schedule risks Coordinate with vendors and supply houses Verify materials align with approved submittals Field & Office Coordination Communicate with foremen regarding plans, RFIs, and material status Attend coordination meetings and distribute action items Support quality control walks and punchlist tracking Help bridge communication between the field and office Cost & Change Management Support Track potential change events Collect field documentation (photos, T&M, narratives) Assist with change order pricing and logs Support monthly billings and invoice review Scheduling & Planning Assist with short-interval and look-ahead schedules Track progress by area or system Coordinate manpower forecasts with field leadership Skills required: 4+ years of commercial electrical construction experience Strong understanding of plans, specifications, and field operations Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Comfortable using computers and willing to learn project software Strong communication skills with both field and office teams Skills preferred: Journeyman Electrician License Foreman or lead electrician experience Exposure to project documentation, scheduling, or estimating Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools
