Regional Superintendent of Schools Position Summary Regional Office of Education 56, serving Will County, Illinois, is seeking a collaborative and experienced educational leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent. This role supports the Regional Superintendent in delivering high-quality services to school districts, educators, and students across the county. The Assistant Superintendent will help ensure compliance with state and federal requirements while advancing initiatives that promote student success and educator effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Assist in the leadership, administration, and coordination of all ROE 56 programs and services. Ensure compliance with the Illinois School Code, Illinois State Board of Education regulations, and applicable federal laws. Support local school districts in areas such as school improvement planning, curriculum alignment, and instructional leadership. Assist in expanding professional development opportunities for educators and administrators across Will County. Assist in the coordination of regional programs, including alternative education, truancy intervention, and educator licensure. Collaborate with district leaders, community organizations, and state agencies to enhance educational outcomes. Assist in budget development, grant writing, and fiscal management of state and federal funds. Represent ROE 56 at regional, state, and community meetings and events. Supervise assigned staff and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field (Doctorate preferred). Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Superintendent or General Administrative endorsement. Successful leadership experience in education (district or regional level preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of Illinois education law, compliance requirements, and school improvement practices. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in grant administration, program development, or regional services is preferred.
