Dancing Moose Montessori School is a leading early childhood education program known for its innovative approach and commitment to nurturing the growth of young minds. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Chef to join our dedicated team!
Position Overview:
The Assistant Chef plays a vital role in providing nutritious meals and snacks that support the health and well-being of our students. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to dietary needs, and the ability to lead and manage a kitchen team in a dynamic school environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare balanced, healthy meals and snacks for children aged 18 months to 2nd grade, ensuring all meals meet dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines. Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving, while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Collaborate with staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the kitchen and to address any dietary concerns. Maintain compliance with health regulations and food safety standards.
Qualifications:
A current food handler's permit is required. Proven experience as a chef, preferably in an educational or child-focused environment. Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions, and food safety practices. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks. A positive, collaborative attitude with a genuine interest in working in an educational environment.
