Job Description

About the Job NGC Group, Inc. is a client-driven commercial general contractor dedicated to building relationships that far outlast a single construction project. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will contribute to our company by providing project support to the Project Team, under the direction of the Superintendent. The position will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring the specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent I performs all duties with guidance from the Superintendent. How You'll Spend Your Time Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment. Assist the Superintendent with daily activities. Works in the field with subcontractors to build strong relationships, solve problems and assure compliance. Assist the Project Manager with daily activities including RFI's and project related documentation, when necessary. Participate in project team schedule updates and assist in maintaining schedule; discuss all deviations with Superintendent. Assist Superintendent with daily logs and weekly reports, accurately detailing items such as work completed, working conditions, manpower, issues, etc. Represent NGC in job site progress meetings and other meetings, as assigned by Superintendent. Schedule third-party and city inspections, as assigned by Superintendent. Inspect subcontractors' work for compliance with Quality Control program. Assist with project punch lists and ensure that each item on the list is completed prior to inspection. Safeguard and maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles. Assure that good housekeeping practices are maintained at the job site. Develop positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other external clients. You Should Apply if You Are/Have Associate degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred). In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. 3+ years commercial construction experience. Proficiency in MS Office, project management software such as Procore (Preferred), and Bluebeam (Preferred). Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project. General knowledge of commercial wood construction. Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule.
