Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will support teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, implementing curriculum, and fostering the development of essential skills in young learners. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with students, providing individualized support and guidance to enhance their educational experience. Responsibilities Maintain a safe play environment. Dress children and change diapers. Observe and monitor children's play activities. Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered. Sanitize toys and play equipment. Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children. Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention. Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits. Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs. Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books. Regulate children's rest periods. Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and taking phone calls when required. Perform housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, dish washing, and changing of linens. Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas. Organize and participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips. Perform general personnel functions, such as supervision, training, and scheduling. Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas. Skills Strong background in early childhood education, including knowledge of childhood development principles. Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues. Classroom management skills to maintain an orderly learning environment. Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively. Previous experience working directly with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
