Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach Politics 101, Introduction to American Politics, in the traditional undergraduate program in Fall 2026. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:10-6:50pm This course will be taught in person, on campus. Designed to develop comprehensive understanding of the basic structures, functions, and dynamics of America's political system. Governmental processes and institutions covered in this course include: the U.S. Constitution, America's three branches of government, civil rights, social movements, and political participation. Includes experiential learning activities in both individual and group formats.Qualifications:
ABD or PhD (preferred) in political science, international relations, or related field. Experience teaching in a liberal arts environment to a diverse student body are desirable. Candidate must agree to structure syllabus with assignments that will demonstrate common core learning outcomes. Candidates must reside in California.Salary:
