Job Description
General Description and Qualifications King's Way Christian Schools is a private, Christian school serving students from 12 months through 12th grade. We partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education for the whole child, leading to life change in each student. We are seeking a High School Associate Athletic Director to help lead and execute a dynamic, mission-aligned athletic program. This role plays a critical part in shaping the student-athlete experience by ensuring strong coach leadership, operational excellence, and full compliance with governing athletic standards. The ideal candidate is a relational leader, highly organized operator, and strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Primary Roles Lead, develop and support high school coaches by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering a unified, mission-aligned athletic culture Ensure the athletic program operates with excellence and integrity by maintaining full compliance with WIAA regulations and school policies, including accurate eligibility, current rosters, required reporting, and meeting attendance. Deliver a smooth and well-organized experience for all teams by overseeing the planning and execution of athletic seasons, including scheduling, facilities coordination, and transportation Create an engaging and energetic game-day environment that builds school spirit, encourages strong attendance, and enhances the student and family experience Partner with school leadership and student groups to elevate athletic events through thoughtful programming, recognition, and community involvement Recruit and hire high-quality coaches who align with the mission and values of the school, and invest in their growth through intentional onboarding and ongoing development Steward the athletic program budget by balancing expenses and revenue while identifying growth opportunities and clearly communicating future needs and priorities to support long-term program development Ensure clear, consistent communication across students, families, coaches, and staff, fostering trust and connection within the athletic community Strengthen the visibility and accessibility of athletic programs while helping student-athletes and families navigate opportunities, including pathways to collegiate athletics Serve as a reliable point of contact for compliance , ensuring the athletic program operates with integrity and in good standing with governing bodies Position Details This is a full-time, year-round, exempt (salaried) position reporting to the Athletic Administrator. The High School Associate Athletic Director plays a highly visible and active role in the life of the school, with a schedule that varies based on athletic seasons and program needs. This position regularly requires evening work and occasional weekends, especially during peak competition seasons and school events. Flexibility is important, as the rhythm of the role follows the athletic calendar rather than a traditional workday. The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,200 - $90,000, with final compensation based on internal equity, experience, skills, and education.

This role operates across a variety of settings, including an office environment, gymnasiums, athletic fields, and event spaces. The position is active and often requires being present at practices, games, and school events. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; move throughout campus and athletic facilities; lift, carry, and assist with setup of athletic equipment as needed. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to respond to urgent or time-sensitive situations during eventsTelework:

Required Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to the mission and Statement of Faith of King's Way Christian Schools Experience in athletics administration, coaching, or related leadership role Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to lead and hold others accountable in a constructive, professional manner Working knowledge of high school athletics and student development Prior experience with Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) programs or similar governing bodies Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising or developing coaches or staff Background in education-based athletics Familiarity with 3D Institute coaching framework Experience as a sports coach Compliance Requirements Employment is contingent upon completion of all required Washington State and WIAA compliance requirements, clearing a pre-employment background check, mandated reporter training, and applicable certifications (First Aid/CPR, concussion, and safety training).Similar remote jobs
