Safety Sensitive Anticipated Schedule:
On-site availability is required. The schedule is determined based on the physician's availability and the agency's needs, in collaboration with our Hospice Scheduler, and finalized four weeks in advance.

The Associate Physician, specializing in Hospice and Palliative Care, will provide essential medical services to support patients facing serious illnesses, focusing on symptom management, pain control, and improving the quality of life. This position is designed for physicians who prefer independent contractor status and are dedicated to delivering compassionate end-of-life care.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Washington State medical license. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospice and palliative care team. Previous experience in hospice and palliative care settings is strongly preferred. Profound understanding of the principles and practices of compassionate end-of-life care. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require passing a pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine or related specialty. Understanding of the principles and practices of compassionate end-of-life care. Contractual Details This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes and other legal obligations. Work schedule and hours may vary based on patient needs and availability

Compensation and Benefits Malpractice Insurance:
Tri-Cities Chaplaincy provides liability and malpractice insurance with the following coverage which includes tail coverage:$1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 aggregate
Compensation Rates:
On-Call:
$20/per hour billed in 1-hour increments ($480 for 24 hours)
Active Time:
$120/per hour billed in 15-minute increments.
Holiday Active Time:
$180/per hour billed in 15-minute increments.
AGENCY REQUIREMENTS 1.

Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency's Mission, Vision, and Values. 2.
Community Outreach:
Participate in education and outreach activities to promote agency programs, including hospice care, advanced planning, and bereavement services. 3.
Policy Compliance:
Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies, procedures, and practices. 4.
Confidentiality:
Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines. Only access information on a need-to-know basis. 5.
Transportation:
Maintain reliable personal transportation. Maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance per state requirements. 6.
Health Requirements:
Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable. 7.
Screenings:
Pass criminal background and drug screenings. 8.
Physical Demands:
Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.(see attached physical requirements) 9.
Training and Orientation:
Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs. 10.
Continuing Education:
Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training be designated deadlines. 11.
Licensure and Certification:
Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role. 12.
Language Proficiency:
Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. 13.
Work Availability:
Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
