Primary Purpose:
Support the principal in leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Del Valle High School instructional program, ensuring alignment with campus and district goals. Provide leadership for curriculum implementation, data-driven instruction, and staff development to promote high levels of student achievement and postsecondary readiness. Assist in supervising campus personnel, managing operations, and maintaining high standards for teaching and learning. Ensure compliance with district policies and support the effective implementation of campus programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check in accordance with district requirements (fee paid by employee)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of high school curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices Ability to use and analyze data to drive instructional decisions, monitor student progress, and implement targeted interventions Knowledge of graduation requirements, state accountability systems, and college, career, and military readiness indicators Proven leadership skills with the ability to support, develop, and hold staff accountable for high performance Skill in evaluating instructional programs and teaching effectiveness to improve student outcomes Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to manage campus operations, including personnel and resources, effectively Knowledge of district policies and procedures, with the ability to ensure compliance Strong communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills, both verbal and written Ability to build and sustain positive, collaborative relationships with staff, students, families, and district leaders
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience at the secondary level Minimum of three (3) years of secondary administrative experience preferred

promotes continuous improvement of instruction through the following: Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the campus instructional program to improve student achievement and postsecondary readiness Use multiple sources of data to monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and guide instructional decisions and targeted interventions Collaborate with the principal to develop and implement the campus master schedule aligned to instructional priorities and student needs Provide ongoing instructional coaching, feedback, and support to teachers to strengthen classroom practice and student engagement Support teachers in designing and delivering differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs Monitor the effectiveness of instructional programs, including advanced academics and career pathways, and adjust practices based on data and outcomes Promote the professional growth of staff through job-embedded learning, data analysis, and reflective practices Support the implementation of student intervention systems to improve academic performance, graduation rates, and college, career, and military readiness Encourage the use of innovative instructional strategies and the integration of technology to enhance teaching and learning Assist with the coordination of student programs and services that support academic success Organization Climate The administrator fosters a positive and supportive campus climate through the following: Promote a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that supports the academic and social-emotional needs of all students Model and reinforce high expectations for staff and students, recognizing and celebrating achievement, growth, and positive contributions Support the continuous improvement of campus culture through reflection, feedback, and responsive practices Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to build trust and maintain a positive school climate Encourage student voice and engagement to strengthen school connectedness and belonging Organization Improvement The administrator promotes leadership in efforts to improve the school through the following: Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Campus Improvement Plan aligned to district goals and student needs Use data to identify campus needs, set goals, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives Coordinate and support campus intervention systems, including academic and behavioral supports, to improve student outcomes Collaborate with staff to implement strategies that improve student engagement, attendance, achievement, and graduation outcomes Communicate with families regarding student progress and support the development and monitoring of intervention plans as needed Support the planning and implementation of student transition activities, including incoming 9th grade orientation and postsecondary readiness planning Collaborate with counselors, staff, and district personnel to ensure alignment of student support services and college, career, and military readiness initiatives Support the coordination of campus events, enrichment opportunities, and student programs that enhance the overall school experience Promote family and community engagement through effective communication, outreach, and involvement opportunities Monitor the implementation of campus initiatives and adjust practices based on feedback and results Communication and Community Relations The administrator promotes positive school and community relationships through the following: Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to support student success and maintain a positive school environment Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs Foster collaborative partnerships among staff, families, and the broader school community Clearly communicate the campus mission, goals, and priorities to stakeholders Support and promote family and community engagement opportunities that strengthen connections to the school Represent the campus in a professional manner to build trust and rapport with families and the community Student Management The administrator promotes positive student behavior and a supportive learning environment through the following: Establish, communicate, and reinforce clear expectations for student behavior aligned to campus and district guidelines Ensure consistent and equitable implementation of student discipline policies and procedures Address student behavior using fair, constructive, and developmentally appropriate practices that support growth and accountability Foster a positive school culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement Collaborate with staff to implement proactive behavior supports and intervention strategies Support student development by promoting a sense of belonging, self-confidence, and personal responsibility Engage families in supporting student behavior and academic success through ongoing communication and partnership Personnel Relations/Management The administrator supports effective personnel management through the following: Delegate responsibilities strategically to maximize staff strengths and support efficient campus operations Support the supervision and evaluation of staff to promote accountability and continuous improvement Recognize and reinforce effective performance to sustain a culture of high expectations and excellence Promote professional growth through ongoing learning and leadership development opportunities Ensure compliance with district personnel policies, procedures, and employment regulations Assist in identifying staffing needs and support the recruitment and retention of high-quality personnel Organization Management The administrator supports effective management of campus operations, resources, and facilities through the following: Assist in the development and monitoring of the campus budget to ensure alignment with instructional priorities and campus goals Seek and incorporate stakeholder input to inform resource allocation and decision-making Support oversight of campus operations, including attendance, accounting, payroll, and transportation, to ensure efficiency and compliance Ensure campus facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained to support teaching and learning Monitor the use of campus resources to promote fiscal responsibility and operational effectiveness Professional Growth and Development The administrator demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth through the following: Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned to job responsibilities, campus goals, and district priorities Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior that models high expectations for staff and students Seek feedback and reflect on practice to improve leadership effectiveness and support campus success Collaborate with district staff and professional networks to remain current on best practices in instruction, leadership, and accurate and timely submission of reports, records, and required documentation Promote and maintain a safe and secure learning environment by identifying and addressing potential safety concerns
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Share supervisory responsibilities for campus personnel with the principal, including teachers, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, custodians, and other assigned staff Equipment Computer, instructional software and digital platforms, and standard office equipment including printers, copiers, scanners, and other technology necessary to perform job responsibilities.
