Full Time, exempt.Date:
May 2026 We're not looking for rockstars, we're looking for veterinarians. It seems odd to us that there are so many veterinary job postings looking for rockstars. You really don't need any musical skills to work here… although you're welcome to sing to the patients if you want to. That being said, we are looking for a veterinarian to help our team practice high quality medicine in a non-profit setting with no production requirements, no on-call/after-hour shifts, and freedom to apply a spectrum of care approach to manage cases how you see fit… within reason (e.g. we'd rather you not treat pododermatitis with amputation). Pet Network Community Hospital is a unique veterinary hospital paired with Pet Network Humane Society that offers a full spectrum of veterinary services to the local community and surrounding areas. Our services range from wellness and preventative medicine to advanced surgery and critical care. In addition to not having production requirements, and no on-call or overnight shifts, as a non-profit we get to keep our prices reasonable, so we don't have to euthanize patients due to a lack of finances. We also offer clients interest free payment plans and partner with other non-profits to assure that every pet receives the treatment he/she needs. There are a couple of options for the open position here: you could go the route of preventative care and minor illnesses while our current veterinarians cover procedures and complex cases, or you can do a mixture. We do have the opportunity for you to develop some new, sweet skills. We have amazing equipment including ultrasound, endoscope, digital xray, CT scanner, ventilator, vessel sealer, ICU, orthopedic equipment including a deSoutter vDrive battery drill, and Idexx in-house diagnostics (cbc, chemistry, UA, sediment, blood gas, coag). Admittedly, we don't do anything with laser beams or supplements and stick with evidence based medicine. On a side note, we're located in Incline Village, which is on the North shore of Lake Tahoe. A lot of folks seem to like Lake Tahoe… probably because of all the water. While working near Lake Tahoe speaks for itself, we also offer a plethora of benefits including Fully Sponsored Health, Vision and Dental insurance, 401k, 401k Matching, PTO, Paid Holidays, Life Insurance, Accident Insurance, Disability Insurance, Referral Program, Annual CE allowance and CE days off, Coverage of membership dues, licensing fees, and insurance, Gas Allowance, Mental Health Days, Uniform Allowance, At cost Veterinary Care at the Community Hospital for personal pets and an annual free adoption from the shelter. In addition to our great team, we have an incredibly grateful clientele in our community that utilize the services at the community hospital for their pets and also donate generously to our shelter. We are a nonprofit organization, so all profits from the community hospital provide further support for our animal shelter.General Description of Position:
