K-ceps Auto Body, Central Ohio's leader in Certified Collision Repair, is looking for elite Body Shop Refinish Technicians . Record-setting sales year, after year, means we are in need of top-tier talent to help move production to a new level in our 75,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art collision repair facility located just east of Columbus. We are seeking dedicated individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment and can deliver flawless, factory-quality work. K-ceps holds 22 OEM Certifications—including exclusive Highline OEM certifications from Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Tesla, Jaguar-Land Rover, Lucid, and Rivian! Simply put, we fix very cool cars, safely, and completely.
Essential Job Duties Advanced Refinishing:
Perform high-quality automotive refinishing procedures according to factory specifications and K-ceps policy to restore luxury and exotic vehicles to their original structural and cosmetic appearance.
Color Formulation & Blending:
Prepare, tint, and mix complex paint colors. Ensure all formulations, topcoating, and curing meet strict OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing, and materials usage.
Precision Spraying:
Utilize high-end spray guns and advanced paint booth technology to apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats efficiently while maintaining a flawless finish.
Color Match Verification:
Spray test panels for every vehicle to guarantee a seamless color match before final application, minimizing re-work and maximizing production flow.
Materials Control:
Manage and control paint and materials costs, maximizing product usage and maintaining accurate inventory standards.
Final Finish Coordination:
Ensure all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and prior paint-related disassembly is flawlessly reassembled. Complete a comprehensive QC sheet for every vehicle.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere strictly to all paint manufacturing guidelines and regulatory compliance for hazardous waste disposal. Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized booth and workspace.
Skills & Requirements Experience:
Typically has a minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated automotive refinishing experience in a high-production or dealership environment.
Certifications:
Auto Body Vo-Tech certificate or ASE certification in refinishing is preferred. Valid I-CAR certifications are highly preferred.
Age & Licensing:
Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and eligible for coverage under K-ceps insurance policy (not an excluded driver).
Safety Compliance:
Comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety, and fitment/usage. Maintain compliance to pass required safety mask fit tests.
Leadership & Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with team members. Advanced communication skills to mentor, coach, and train apprentices or preppers as required.
Work Style:
Ability to read and understand complex written estimates, insurance guidelines, and OEM work orders. High attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Position is based in a normal shop environment. Frequent physical activity such as kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, and lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity, as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts carts and cars with assistance. Working environment consists of exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, and dust, along with high levels of noise. K-ceps enforces the mandatory requirement to wear protective equipment. Must have manual dexterity to operate precision equipment. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Must have sharp visual acuity to determine the accuracy, depth, and thoroughness of color matching and finish work. Education & General Job Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Previous experience as a Journeyman Refinish Technician or related high-level experience required. Exceptional organization and time-management skills to keep booth cycles moving. Must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
