Reigns Garage is seeking a reliable and motivated Automotive Technician to handle a wide range of mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and support for collision and performance work. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently, and a willingness to grow into advanced diagnostics, fabrication, and performance installations. The ideal candidate has the vision and capability to develop into advanced fabrication work, including custom setups and turbo kit installations. They must be dependable, take pride in clean and accurate work, and communicate effectively throughout the repair process.
  • POSITION OVERVIEW
    Technician is responsible for performing mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and supporting collision and performance work. This role requires efficiency, accuracy, and clear communication at all times.
  • 1.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clock in and out of each job accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow shop workflow and management direction
  • Communicate job status and progress throughout the day
  • Do not proceed with major decisions without approval
  • 2.
MECHANICAL REPAIR DUTIES
  • Perform oil changes and routine maintenance
  • Complete brake jobs (pads, rotors, calipers)
  • Perform suspension work (coilovers, control arms, struts, links)
  • Repair cooling systems (radiators, thermostats, water pumps)
  • Install bolt-on parts (intakes, exhaust, intercoolers)
Standards:
  • All work must be completed correctly the first time
  • No missing hardware, loose bolts, or improper routing
  • Follow proper torque specifications when required
  • 3.
DIAGNOSTIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Technician must follow a structured diagnostic process:
  • Verify customer concern
  • Scan vehicle for codes and analyze live data
  • Perform visual inspection
  • Test components before replacing parts
  • Confirm root cause before repair Examples include:
  • Check engine lights
  • Misfires and drivability issues
  • Electrical faults
  • Cooling/overheating problems
  • Noise and vibration concerns
Rules:
  • No guessing or unnecessary part replacement
  • No relying on codes alone without testing
  • Must clearly communicate findings before repairs
  • 4.
INSURANCE / COLLISION SUPPORT
  • Perform remove and install (R&I) operations
  • Assist with teardown for damage assessment
  • Identify and report all hidden damage immediately
  • Take photos when required
  • Do not reassemble without approval
  • 5.
PERFORMANCE & FABRICATION WORK
(GROWTH PATH)
  • Handle and Assist with turbo kit or supercharger kit installations and performance builds
  • Install aftermarket performance components
  • Follow detailed instructions and shop standards
Growth Expectations:
  • Develop ability to perform full turbo kit installs
  • Gain experience in fabrication (modifying piping, fitment, routing)
  • Understand heat management, oil/coolant routing, and system layout
  • Identify potential issues before final assembly

COMMUNICATION & DOCUMENTATION
  • Provide updates before moving to the next task
  • Report delays or issues immediately
  • Document:
  • Problems found
  • Parts required
  • Additional labor needed

Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for disassembly and reassembly tasks while adhering to safety standards. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive issues effectively. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Assist with auto estimating and parts ordering to streamline repair workflows. Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Experience Proven experience working as an automotive mechanic within a dealership or independent shop environment. Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures across various vehicle makes, especially GM vehicles preferred. Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance is highly desirable. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software for troubleshooting electrical systems and ADAS technology. Demonstrated ability to read schematics accurately and work with complex mechanical systems such as transmissions, powertrain components, suspension systems, and brake repair. Experience performing wheel alignments, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, and auto body repairs is advantageous. Knowledge of welding techniques and auto estimating processes is a plus.
