Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, powertrains, transmissions, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs, diesel engine servicing, wheel alignments, and welding tasks. Utilize schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to execute repairs efficiently. Service vehicle components such as brakes, steering systems, suspension, and electrical systems to ensure safety and reliability. Assist with auto estimating processes by assessing repair needs and communicating effectively with customers about necessary work. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and parts used in compliance with dealership standards. Support the team with vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, and routine inspections to uphold high service standards. Requirements Proven dealership experience or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair. Solid mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrains, transmissions, electrical systems, and diesel engines. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues. Familiarity with ADAS technology, vehicle alignment procedures, and GM vehicles is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service machinery safely and effectively. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid mechanic license or certification preferred; relevant certifications in automotive electrical systems or diesel repair are advantageous. Willingness to learn new technologies such as ADAS calibration or advanced diagnostics software. Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Diesel & Gas Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain our heavy-duty fleet. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience working on diesel trucks, gas engines, and specialized equipment, focusing on efficiency and quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-level diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel and natural gas engines. Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Repair engines, transmissions, differentials, and braking systems (air brakes). Utilize diagnostic software for troubleshooting (e.g., Cummins, CAT). Perform service calls in the field on heavy equipment.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in heavy-duty diesel/gas shop . Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and hydraulic systems.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
