Job Description

Play Guide Part-Time | Weekdays & Weekends | Phoenix, AZ The Role Our Play Guides are the energy of The Little Play Avenue. You're the first smile a family sees when they walk through our doors, the one who gets down on the floor with a shy two-year-old and has them laughing within minutes, and the reason a mom takes a breath, grabs her oat milk latte, and actually relaxes for the first time all week. This is a role for someone who genuinely radiates warmth. You're the friend everyone gravitates toward, the one who plans the brunch, coordinates the group photo, and always looks put together doing it. You love little kids with your whole heart and it's obvious in every interaction. You're the person who walks into a room and immediately makes it feel brighter, more fun, more alive. Your energy is magnetic and your aesthetic is intentional. If your friends describe you as "the fun one," and you've never met a toddler who didn't immediately want to be picked up by you, keep reading. A Typical Day Opening the space each morning by walking every play area with fresh eyes, making sure everything is clean, styled, stocked, and photo-ready before the first family arrives Being the welcoming face at check-in: greeting members and guests by name, crouching down to say hi to their little one, learning their age, their favorite color, their current obsession, and remembering all of it the next time they visit Jumping into imaginative play with the kids in our themed spaces, whether that's building a tower in the construction zone, hosting a pretend tea party, leading a spontaneous dance session, or sitting in a reading nook making animal sounds with a one-year-old Being the reason parents feel comfortable. You're warm, visible, and engaged on the play floor at all times, so families can relax and enjoy their coffee knowing their children are seen, safe, and having the time of their lives Keeping our space as beautiful as it looks in photos, all day long. That means tidying play areas continuously, sanitizing surfaces between sessions, resetting toys to their designated spots, and doing a thorough deep clean at close. We maintain an incredibly high standard and it's a shared point of pride on this team. Styling and setting up for private celebrations: arranging tablescapes, fluffing balloons, making sure the party space feels magical before the birthday family walks in Capturing candid, beautiful moments throughout the day for our social media. You have a natural eye for a cute shot and you know when the light is right and a toddler is doing something irresistible. Chatting with parents between play sessions, building real relationships with our member families, making new guests feel like they've been coming for years Keeping the café area, retail displays, and restrooms looking fresh and elevated throughout your shift. You treat the entire space like it's yours.
You're Our Person If:
Children are completely drawn to you and you light up around them in a way that's impossible to fake. Babies stare at you. Toddlers follow you. Parents notice. You're bubbly, outgoing, and genuinely magnetic. You're the person who makes friends in line at the coffee shop and has strangers telling you their life story within five minutes. Your personal aesthetic is polished and intentional. You care about how you present yourself and you bring that same energy to the spaces you're responsible for. You're the type to bring homemade treats to a gathering, plan the group activity, remember everyone's coffee order, and still look great in every photo You genuinely enjoy taking care of things: organizing a shelf, cleaning up a space, making something beautiful. It doesn't drain you, it satisfies you. Working with kids fills your cup in a way your friends might not fully understand, and you wouldn't trade it You understand that showing up on time, camera-ready, and fully present is the baseline, not the extra credit You're pursuing or have completed a degree in Early Childhood Education, Communications, Hospitality, Event Planning, or a related field (bonus if you've nannied, tutored, or led a campus organization) What We Offer A workspace so beautiful you'll actually want to post about it A team of warm, driven, detail-oriented women who take this work seriously and have so much fun doing it Flexible scheduling built around school, life, and everything in between Complimentary coffee, member perks, and retail discounts The chance to grow with a brand that's building something genuinely new in Phoenix To apply: Send your resume and a quick note about what draws you to this role to hello@thelittleplayavenue.com. Bonus points if you include your Instagram handle.
